Greenways

Natural open spaces - parks, greenways, waterfronts, beaches, nature preserves and community gardens - are really what make cities liveable and loveable. Greenways covers these essential urban features plus the evolving cutting edge strategies for going green in 21st century cities.

Olmsted's Green Ribbon By Stephen Bastide
A contemporary of Frederick Law Olmsted described him thusly ... An artist, he paints with lakes and wooded slopes; with lawns and banks and forest covered hills; with mountain sides and ocean views. One of Olmsted's final projects and among his greatest achievemects was Boston's Emerald Necklace, which he referred to as the Green Ribbon. We're going to meet the artist and walk his greenway.
