Walkie-talkie Hide and Seek

Chy-chy and Steve

Hey kids! My name's Chy-chy. I've got a new game to show you. Me and Steve made it up one night out in my back yard. We call it Walkie-Talkie Hide and Seek. It's like hide and seek. But played at night. With walkie-talkies. Here's how it goes.

First - you need a pair of walkie talkies.
Second - you need two flashlights.
Third - and you need to find three friends.

You have to wait for it to get real dark. This makes it lots more fun. Choose buddies to make up two teams. This game can be played by just two kids, but it's lots more fun with four. Each team gets a walkie talkie and a flashlight.

Team 1 up runs off and hides. Team 2 stays behind with their eyes covered. No peeking!

When Team 1 is hidden, they call up Team 2 on their walkie-talkie and say, "We're ready!"

Then Team 2 tries to find out where Team 1 is hiding.

Team 2 can call up Team 1 any time on their walkie talkie and ask for clues to their hiding place. Team 1 has to call them back and tell them the truth - but not all of it. They can be as tricky as they like to try to fool Team 2.

Team 1 can call up Team 2 and offer clever clues, as long as they're true, to mislead Team 1. They can also request Team 2's location, which Team 2 can try to hide with some clever - but true - clues.

Team 1 can move their hiding place - if they're sneaky enough to pull it off - but after they've moved they have to call up Team 2 and say, "We've moved!"

The flashlights are for finding your way around in the dark and shining into places where the hidden team might be lurking.

If Team 2 - the searchers - find Team 1 - the hiders - they score one point.

If Team 2 can't find Team 1 after looking for a long time, they can call up Team 1 and say they're giving up - but Team 1 scores a point.

If Team 2 can sneak up on Team 1 where they're hiding and surprise them - making them jump aup nd scream - or tagging one of them - they score one extra point.

The teams take turns hiding and seeking and when you're done, the team with the highest score wins the game.

You have to tell the truth to make the game work, but you can be really sneaky and evasive. Like Team 2 calls up and asks, 'Are you in the garage?". Well, Team 1 can just say something like, "I see a telephone pole from where we are." True - but there might be a dozen telphone poles they can see up and down the street from where they're hiding under the front porch, say.

Sneaking up and surprising the hidden team is real fun - but it's hard to do, you have to be way sneaky and super quiet.

One night me and Steve, we're hidden behind the door to the back porch, sending out sneaky clues and we're like - "Oh, thhis is good, they'll never find us here." - when Sirrayne and Marcel yanked open the door and we jumped like three feet and screamed our heads off we were so surprised. That was fun!

I hope you enjoy Walkie Talkie Hide and Seek.
